Mint Mobile vs Visible: Costs, Hotspot & Renewal

Mint Mobile vs Visible comes down to your local signal, how much data you use, and how long you want to pay ahead. Mint can cost less for a light-data user willing to buy a year. Visible is easier to budget month by month, and its base plan includes unlimited hotspot data with a speed limit. Neither is automatically the cheapest once introductory offers end.

U.S. prices in USD, checked November 4, 2026 (UTC+8), for one phone line. This is a comparison of published plans and terms, not a hands-on coverage or speed test. Offers can change before you order.

Compare the payment, not just the monthly headline

The following are regular prices, not temporary new-customer discounts. Mint collects several months together; Visible lets you choose monthly or annual billing. Taxes and fees are extra at Mint but included in these Visible service prices. Hardware, optional add-ons and international extras are outside this comparison.

PlanRegular paymentWhat to notice

Mint Unlimited, annual term$360 for 12 months, equivalent to $30/monthA full year is paid upfront; taxes and fees extra
Mint Unlimited, six-month renewal$210 for six months, equivalent to $35/monthShorter commitment costs more per month

Visible+ Pro$45 monthly or $450 annuallyTaxes and fees included

A person who uses 4GB most months does not need to buy Unlimited just because the word sounds safer. Check several recent billing cycles, including a month with travel or a broken home connection. Conversely, a plan that fits only when every cafe has working WiFi may be too tight for your routine.

Compare today’s offers and service periods

Mint’s current new-customer pricing is $15/month equivalent for the initial term: $45 for three months, $90 for six, or $180 for twelve, paid upfront. Taxes and fees are extra. After that first term, full-price options apply; Unlimited does not renew at $15/month.

Visible’s HOLIDAYHACK offer terms give new members $6 off monthly service: $19 for Visible for up to 12 months, $29 for Visible+ for up to 36, or $39 for Pro for up to 60. Enter the code at checkout. Annual plans are excluded. Service must remain uninterrupted; downgrading ends the discount, while upgrading keeps the original remaining period rather than restarting it. Afterward, the then-current regular rate applies. The offer generally cannot stack with other service promotions, apart from the stated existing-member referral-credit exception. Visible can change or end it; the checked terms give no fixed deadline.

Initial service choicePayments and coverageService subtotal
Mint Unlimited, six-month introduction then six-month renewal$90 upfront, then $210; 360 days total$300 plus taxes and fees
Mint Unlimited, twelve-month introduction$180 upfront; up to 365 days$180 plus taxes and fees
Visible base with HOLIDAYHACKTwelve calendar-month payments of $19$228, taxes and fees included
Our arithmetic from the checked offers, assuming eligibility, continuous service and unchanged terms. The service periods differ; these are not guarantees of future pricing.

Mint’s billing-cycle terms, section 9.2 use 30-day cycles for shorter terms, while twelve-month plans may use 30- or 31-day cycles for up to 365 days. Two six-month terms therefore do not cover a full calendar year. Check the actual renewal date before comparing a 360-day subtotal with twelve calendar months of service.

The term you buy changes the answer. Mint’s year-long introduction has the lowest service subtotal here, but requires that year upfront and currently renews at $360 for the next year. Visible spreads its payments out. For its base plan, check the rate again after month twelve; today’s regular monthly price is $25.

Compare the final checkout total, not just the service subtotal, before choosing. Also mark the date and amount of the next payment. If you buy another twelve-month term halfway through your first year, part of that payment covers months outside this comparison. Adding it without noting the covered dates makes a fair comparison harder.

Hotspot: a data allowance versus a speed ceiling

Mint Unlimited currently includes 20GB of mobile hotspot data. Think about what the connected laptop does, not just how long it stays connected. A forgotten cloud backup or game download can consume an allowance without much browsing on your part. Check the remaining allowance in the app before a work trip and review any paid data add-on before buying it.

Visible’s hotspot and network-management terms specify unlimited hotspot data at up to 5Mbps on Visible, 10Mbps on Visible+, or 15Mbps on Pro. Those are ceilings, not promised speeds. Connected devices share the connection. Its general heavy-use policy may also reduce device data to 1.5Mbps for the rest of the billing month. The current threshold is 450GB, based on the top 0.5% of users over the preceding six months; that threshold can change.

For occasional email from a laptop, either approach may be enough. For repeated large downloads, the allowance and speed ceiling lead to different compromises. A quicker connection can exhaust a bucket sooner; an unlimited bucket at a lower speed can make a large update take longer. Neither plan should be assumed to replace reliable home broadband for a household.

Coverage and busy-hour performance can outweigh a discount

Mint runs on T-Mobile’s network; Visible uses Verizon’s. Start with Mint’s coverage checker and Visible’s coverage information, then check the places where a failure would be inconvenient: inside your home, your workplace and your normal route. A nationwide map is not an indoor reception guarantee.

Mint’s network policy says other brands may receive higher priority, and Unlimited customers above 50GB in a monthly cycle may experience lower priority during congestion. That is not a statement that service stops at 50GB. Visible’s base plan can also slow relative to other traffic when the network is busy. Its higher plans advertise premium data, but paying more cannot create a usable signal where your phone has none.

Visible’s 15-day trial can help eligible devices check service while keeping an existing line. Verify trial eligibility and what plan is being demonstrated before treating it as proof of every tier’s performance. During any trial, try an ordinary call, navigation and your usual apps at the times you actually use them. This article does not claim a local test result for either network.

Check your phone before moving your number

Use Mint’s compatibility and unlock guidance and Visible’s device checker for the exact phone you intend to keep. “Unlocked” and “compatible” are separate checks. A phone working on another carrier does not establish that its eSIM, supported bands and activation eligibility will work here.

Keep the existing line active until the transfer succeeds. Get its account number and transfer PIN through your current carrier’s official process, and have WiFi available for setup. Do not publish those details in a support forum or send them to an unsolicited caller. If the current phone has financing or a device credit, check what leaving does to the remaining bill before counting a cheaper service rate as your total saving.

Which should you choose?

Choose Mint’s lower-data annual option when your usage fits, T-Mobile coverage works where you need it and the upfront payment is comfortable. Consider Visible monthly when Verizon works well locally and you value a smaller ongoing commitment or frequent hotspot use. Compare the higher Visible tiers only if their additional features solve an actual problem; do not upgrade just to avoid the word “basic.”

If neither fits, our Visible vs US Mobile comparison covers another pricing and network choice. Before ordering any plan, write down today’s amount due, the next renewal date and amount, the hotspot restriction, and the cost of leaving your current carrier. That short list is more useful than choosing from a promotional monthly number alone.
