Visible vs US Mobile comes down to coverage, hotspot use, and the price you will actually renew at. Visible is easier to compare if Verizon coverage works for you and you want hotspot data without a monthly gigabyte allowance. US Mobile offers three network choices and more plan combinations, but the same plan name can have different data limits on each network.
This comparison covers U.S. consumer plans in USD, checked on October 21, 2026. It is based on official plan pages and terms, not hands-on network testing. Prices exclude buying a phone and optional add-ons. Check your device, local coverage, and final order summary before switching.

Visible vs US Mobile: which should you choose?
| Your situation | Start by comparing | What could change the decision? |
|---|---|---|
| You use a laptop hotspot often and can tolerate a speed cap | Visible, Visible+, or Visible+ Pro | Hotspot speed caps are 5, 10, and 15 Mbps respectively; local signal still matters. |
| One network works at home but another works better elsewhere | US Mobile | Network transfers and a paid Multi-Network add-on are different features. |
| You mostly use WiFi and want a lower recurring bill | US Mobile Starter, Flex, or a smaller data plan alongside Visible’s base plan | Compare your actual data use, not just the word unlimited. |
| You want a premium plan without paying a year upfront | Visible+ monthly and US Mobile Premium monthly | Visible’s current discount requires an eligible number transfer; US Mobile’s advertised flash offer has conflicting dates. |
Regular monthly prices and annual payments
The table separates regular service prices from short-term offers. Both providers list taxes and fees as included for these plans. The annual column is an upfront payment, not a monthly installment. Sources: Visible’s monthly and annual plans and US Mobile’s plan selector.
| Plan | Regular monthly price | Regular annual payment | Annual total divided by 12 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visible | $25 | $275 | $22.92 |
| Visible+ | $35 | $375 | $31.25 |
| Visible+ Pro | $45 | $450 | $37.50 |
| US Mobile Unlimited Starter | $25 | $270 | $22.50 |
| US Mobile Unlimited Premium | $44 | $390 | $32.50 |
| US Mobile Unlimited Flex | Annual-only option in the plan selector | $210 | $17.50 |
US Mobile’s current annual cards advertise $199 for Starter and $299 for Premium for new lines, renewing at $270 and $390. However, the linked promotion terms give October 20, 2026 as the offer end date. Because that date has passed, this guide does not treat the lower first-year amounts as a confirmed available deal.
There is also a billing-calendar difference: US Mobile’s billing terms define a month as 30 days and an annual plan as twelve 30-day cycles, or 360 days. Dividing by 12 helps compare advertised rates, but it does not make every provider’s billing period identical.
Current deals: check the terms before counting the savings
Visible lists two offers ending October 29, 2026. Eligible new members who bring their own phone can pay $75 upfront for the first six months of the base Visible plan; it then renews monthly at the current standard $25 rate from month seven. That is a six-month purchase, not a permanent $12.50 monthly plan.
Its separate 5OFF5 offer reduces Visible+ to $30 per month or Visible+ Pro to $40 for 60 months. It requires a new membership, an eligible port-in, activation and number transfer within the specified 30-day window, and continued service on an eligible plan. It does not apply to annual plans or stack with other service promotions or Inner Circle credits. Read the offer disclosure on the plan page and Visible’s promotion eligibility information.
For an eligible Visible+ customer, 12 payments of $30 total $360, which is $15 less than the $375 annual payment. Annual billing is therefore not automatically the cheaper choice. Without that discount, 12 payments of $35 total $420. These are service-price calculations, not a promise of future pricing or coverage.
US Mobile’s homepage still displays FBF10 and FBF20 offers for $10 Starter and $20 Premium for six months. The official promotion archive and full terms say those offers ended October 20. They required a qualifying number transfer, excluded number-broker and VoIP transfers, and renewed at the then-current regular price. Do not build a budget around those codes unless US Mobile confirms a valid extension in writing.
Hotspot: unlimited data is not unlimited speed
Visible lets you keep using your phone’s hotspot without a monthly gigabyte allowance, but the speed ceiling depends on the tier: up to 5 Mbps on Visible, 10 Mbps on Visible+, and 15 Mbps on Pro. Those are caps, not guaranteed speeds. Visible says multiple connected devices can reduce performance; one device gets the best available experience.
US Mobile’s hotspot allowance depends on the network you choose. Its official Unlimited plan comparison lists:
| US Mobile network | Starter hotspot | Premium hotspot |
|---|---|---|
| Dark Star | 20 GB | 100 GB high-speed, then 100 GB at 8 Mbps, then 600 Kbps |
| Warp | 10 GB | 50 GB |
| Light Speed | 10 GB | 50 GB |
That is why the Premium card’s “unlimited hotspot on Dark Star” headline needs the detail underneath it. After the high-speed and 8 Mbps portions, 600 Kbps is not a substitute for a fast laptop connection. Conversely, someone using a few gigabytes for occasional work may prefer a larger high-speed allowance to Visible’s fixed speed cap. Neither conclusion requires assuming one carrier is faster at your house.
If the plan is meant to replace household broadband, read our mobile hotspot vs home internet comparison first. A phone plan’s tethering rules, battery use, and shared connection are separate from a home internet service.
Coverage and network switching matter more than a nationwide winner
Visible uses Verizon’s network. US Mobile offers Dark Star, Warp, and Light Speed. Start with coverage where you spend time: inside your home, at work, and on regular journeys. A coverage map cannot tell you exactly how a phone will perform indoors or during a busy evening.
US Mobile’s network transfer guide describes moving your main line to another network. The first two transfers are free, then $2 each unless you have Unlimited Premium. A transfer can interrupt service briefly; it is not instant automatic roaming between networks.
The Multi-Network add-on instead keeps additional lines on the same compatible device, with shared data rules. After its introductory trial, each added network costs $10 per monthly cycle or $90 annually on an eligible annual plan. An iPhone uses one of those networks for data at a time; the add-on does not combine them into one faster connection.
Also distinguish phone data from hotspot data. US Mobile Starter includes 70 GB of high-speed phone data on Warp and Light Speed, but uncapped high-speed phone data on Dark Star. “Premium” or “priority” does not guarantee a particular download speed, and the network-specific table is more useful than the tier name alone.
Check these five things before you transfer your number
- Check the exact phone. Confirm it is unlocked and supported, including eSIM or physical SIM requirements. Do not buy another phone simply because a plan is cheaper.
- Compare real usage. Look at several recent bills for phone data and hotspot data separately. Include travel months, not just a quiet month spent on WiFi.
- Write down the renewal. Record the upfront amount, billing period, regular price, promotion expiry, and paid extras. Our internet plan fee checklist explains how to read a quote beside its terms.
- Read prepaid refund limits. Visible says activated annual plans are not refundable. US Mobile’s return and refund policy has specific trial eligibility and short refund limits; it is not an open-ended refund of unused annual service.
- Prepare the transfer, then move. Get the account information and transfer PIN required by your existing provider. Do not cancel the old number first. Recheck calling, texting, data, and hotspot after activation.
Is Visible or US Mobile cheaper?
For regular monthly pricing, Visible and US Mobile Starter both start at $25 in this comparison. Visible+ costs less monthly than US Mobile Premium before add-ons, but their hotspot and network options are different. Eligible Visible discounts can make monthly billing cheaper than its own annual tier. US Mobile’s annual renewal rates can reduce the recurring service cost, provided the network suits you and you accept paying ahead.
Choose the least expensive plan that works where you need it and covers your actual phone and hotspot use. A discount that expires, an extra network you do not need, or a year prepaid on poor coverage can erase the saving.
