Visible is the lower-cost starting point for one person who wants unlimited phone data and hotspot use. Cricket deserves a closer look if AT&T coverage works better where you live, you want a store to visit, or you are comparing several lines together. Check the exact plan: Cricket’s cheapest multi-month offers do not include hotspot, while Visible’s unlimited hotspot has a speed limit.
This Cricket vs Visible comparison covers U.S. consumer service in USD, with official prices and terms checked November 3, 2026. It compares published offers, not personal coverage or speed tests. Phone purchases, financing and optional extras are separate from the service costs below.

Monthly prices: compare the regular rate first
Cricket’s monthly plans are Select, Smart and Supreme Unlimited. Select requires a new line. Eligible AutoPay reduces the second and later service charges; the table separates those rates from the initial charge.
| One-line unlimited plan | Regular monthly service | Included phone hotspot |
|---|---|---|
| Cricket Select | $40; $35 with eligible AutoPay after the first charge | Not included; an add-on is available |
| Cricket Smart | $50; $45 with eligible AutoPay after the first charge | 15GB, then 128Kbps |
| Cricket Supreme | $60; $55 with eligible AutoPay after the first charge | 50GB, then 128Kbps |
| Visible | $25 | Unlimited data, up to 5Mbps |
| Visible+ | $35 | Unlimited data, up to 10Mbps |
| Visible+ Pro | $45 | Unlimited data, up to 15Mbps |
Monthly government taxes are included in these service prices. Cricket’s current fee schedule lists $25 in-store activation versus $0 online, a $25 device-upgrade fee, and $5 assisted or automated-phone payment fees. Visible’s labels list no provider monthly, purchase-time or early-termination fee. Check the actual order; included service taxes do not make phones or every payment method free.
Cricket Sensible 10GB is $35, then $30 with eligible AutoPay, without a hotspot add-on. A limited-data plan belongs on a different shortlist from unlimited phone data.
Introductory deals and annual payments can change the answer
Cricket’s multi-month page advertises $45 for the first three months for new customers, followed by the then-current rate. The regular three-month payment shown is $120. Its annual option requires $300 upfront, rather than a recurring $25 monthly payment.
These Cricket offers require a new single-line account and your own compatible phone. They do not combine with multi-line accounts, AutoPay credit, device discounts or add-on features. Hotspot is not included. The terms make the prepayment nonrefundable and restrict plan changes or cancellation until the last 30 days of the selected period; existing monthly customers cannot simply move into a multi-month plan.
| Pay-in-advance option | Payment shown today | What to check afterward |
|---|---|---|
| Cricket introductory three months | $45 for the first three months | Then-current renewal rate; regular three-month price currently $120 |
| Cricket 12 months | $300 upfront | Then-current renewal price and whether you still want the same network |
| Visible annual | $275 upfront | Renewal price; no refund after activation |
| Visible+ annual / Pro annual | $375 / $450 upfront | Compare against an eligible monthly promotion before prepaying |
Visible’s plan page lists those annual totals and says annual payments are not refundable after activation. The monthly equivalent is a budgeting calculation, not permission to pay one month and leave with the rest refunded.
Visible’s HOLIDAYHACK promotion terms give new members $6 off monthly service: $19 for Visible for up to 12 months, $29 for Visible+ for up to 36, or $39 for Pro for up to 60. Enter the code at checkout. Annual billing is excluded, and uninterrupted service is required. After the credits, the then-current regular rate applies.
Downgrading ends that discount; upgrading preserves the original remaining period rather than restarting it. The offer generally cannot stack with other service promotions, apart from the stated existing-member referral-credit exception. Visible may change or end it, and the checked terms give no fixed deadline. Save the applicable details before you move your number.
If the checked terms stayed unchanged, Cricket’s $45 introduction plus three $120 renewals would total $405 for twelve months. Twelve $19 Visible payments would total $228. These are conditional calculations, not guaranteed future rates or identical service packages. Likewise, twelve $29 Visible+ payments total $348, below its $375 regular annual payment. Prepaying does not always give the lowest total.
For four lines, Cricket’s family pricing is worth checking
Cricket’s four-line AutoPay totals are Select $100, Smart $110 and Supreme $130; initial charges are $105, $115 and $135. All lines must share the same plan. The $5 AutoPay credit applies once per account, not per line.
Four Visible base lines total $100 at the regular rate, or $76 while all four independently qualify for $19 HOLIDAYHACK pricing. Four Visible+ lines are $140 regularly or $116 at the checked promotional rate. Cricket Smart’s $110 is competitive with the latter, but the hotspot rules differ. Compare the features each person uses as well as the household total.
Hotspot allowance and network priority are separate limits
Cricket Smart and Supreme provide an allowance per line, then slow hotspot to 128Kbps for the rest of the cycle. Visible lets you keep using hotspot without a monthly data allowance, but caps the connection at the plan’s 5, 10 or 15Mbps limit. Those are maximum hotspot speeds, not measured results. Visible warns that sharing with several devices reduces performance.
For a laptop used occasionally, decide whether a speed ceiling or a finite high-speed allowance is the more manageable restriction. For regular work calls, test the actual connection and have another way online before relying on either. Neither “unlimited” label guarantees that a phone can replace home internet for your household.
Visible’s base phone data can be slower during busy periods; its + and Pro plans advertise unlimited premium data. Its general network-management policy still applies: mobile usage above the current 450GB threshold may be reduced to 1.5Mbps for the rest of the billing month. The threshold reflects the top 0.5% of users over the preceding six months and can change.
Cricket Select, Smart and multi-month plans disclose possible congestion slowdowns. Cricket’s network policy explains how congestion depends on the plan and cell site. Premium data does not promise the same speed in every building, and this guide does not assign a universal speed winner.
Check local coverage and support before paying ahead
Cricket uses AT&T’s network; Visible uses Verizon’s. Check the places that matter to you, including indoors at home and work. Cricket has stores, while Visible says it has no stores and provides care through chat. Someone who wants in-person help may reasonably choose differently from someone comfortable handling setup online.
On eligible phones, tryCricket offers 14 days with 3GB of data, while Visible offers a 15-day trial. Confirm eligibility and the plan being demonstrated before starting. A trial is useful for checking your normal locations, not proof that every paid tier will perform identically. Do not pay for a nonrefundable year just to discover that the connection fails at your desk.
If your shortlist is broader, our Visible versus US Mobile comparison covers another prepaid alternative. If overseas use is important, compare the specific plan’s destination and data rules with our travel eSIM versus roaming cost guide; calling Canada from the U.S. is not the same benefit as using your phone there.
