For Boost Mobile vs Visible, compare the bill after the introductory offer and how you use hotspot. Boost can lower initial payments. Visible includes hotspot and taxes in its phone-plan price. Neither is a good deal if service fails where you need it.
This U.S. comparison covers one phone line, with prices checked November 5, 2026. It is based on current official offers and policies, not a hands-on coverage or speed test. Device payments are separate.

Compare regular prices and current offers
These are the entry plans and a step-up option from each carrier. Boost prices require AutoPay; without it, add $5 monthly. Boost taxes and fees are extra. Visible includes taxes and fees.
| One-line plan | Regular monthly price | Current new-member offer | Annual payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boost Unlimited | $25 with AutoPay | $10/month for six months, then $25 | Monthly offer compared here |
| Boost Unlimited+ | $50 with AutoPay | No device discount included in this comparison | Monthly offer compared here |
| Visible | $25 | $19/month for 12 months | $275 upfront |
| Visible+ | $35 | $29/month for 36 months | $375 upfront |
The Boost offer requires a new customer bringing a phone and using AutoPay. Visible’s HOLIDAYHACK offer requires the code and a new monthly membership; it excludes annual plans. A downgrade ends that discount. An upgrade keeps the remaining original discount period rather than restarting it. Uninterrupted service is required, and the then-current market rate applies afterward.
Calculate the first year, not just the first bill
With today’s eligible offers, six payments of $10 plus six of $25 total $210 before Boost’s taxes and fees. Twelve $19 Visible payments total $228 including taxes and fees. The difference is $18 before Boost’s extras, not a guaranteed $18 saving on your actual bills.
Visible’s $275 annual payment exceeds that promotional monthly total. Paying a year ahead is not automatically cheaper. Compare the full debit today, the offer’s duration and what you expect to pay when it ends.
For a replacement phone, add the handset cost and any financing or protection payments to the same worksheet. Compare equivalent phones and storage sizes. A low service price and a discounted phone from a more expensive plan are different purchases. Our prepaid versus postpaid guide explains why paying for service and financing a device need separate checks.
Separate phone data from hotspot access
Boost Unlimited normally has 30GB of premium data. Its new-customer bonus makes that 50GB monthly for two months, then 30GB. It ends before the price offer. Boost’s current service terms say speeds above a plan’s premium allowance may fall to 512kbps. Do not read unlimited as unlimited full-speed data.
Boost’s Data Hotspot add-on costs $10 monthly and uses the phone plan’s high-speed allowance. Unlimited+ includes hotspot, with 40GB of premium data in the plan. Adding hotspot access does not create a separate, unlimited laptop allowance. Budget for computer updates as well as your phone’s videos and apps.
Visible’s current data disclosures list unlimited hotspot volume capped at up to 5Mbps on Visible and 10Mbps on Visible+. Those are limits, not promised speeds. The base phone plan can slow behind other traffic during congestion; Visible+ includes premium data. Neither eliminates weak signal or a busy network’s physical limits.
Visible also has a heavy-use policy: it currently identifies mobile use above 450GB per billing month and may reduce speeds to 1.5Mbps for the remainder. That threshold can change. These phone plans should not be treated as an unrestricted replacement for a household broadband connection.
Check your actual phone and daily locations
Use Boost’s bring-your-own-device checker for the exact phone you will move. Keep its IMEI private and enter it only into the provider’s official checker. Check carrier locking separately; a paid-off phone is not proof that it is unlocked. See our unlocked versus carrier-phone explanation before ordering a SIM.
Visible’s 15-day trial can test its base service on a compatible eSIM phone while you keep your current carrier. It requires no credit card and does not auto-renew. Eligibility excludes current members and people who used Visible or its trial in the preceding 12 months. It does not demonstrate every benefit of a paid premium tier.
Try a call inside your home, load a page at work and test your normal commute where it is safe to do so. Check that mobile data is using the trial line rather than WiFi or your old SIM. Repeat during the hours you normally use the phone. A coverage-map color or someone else’s city speed test cannot answer those questions for you.
Read the exit rules before transferring your number
Boost’s 30-day guarantee requires a new activated account, a number port-in, AutoPay and a refund request within 30 days of account creation. Its marketing page excludes activation fees and phone payments, while the help page refers broadly to taxes and fees. Ask support to confirm the refundable items for your order in writing; do not assume every charge comes back.
Outside a qualifying refund, Boost’s terms generally do not prorate a canceled service period. Financed or discounted phones can carry separate obligations. Visible’s paid-service cancellation terms state that payments are not refunded after activation, which is especially important before paying annually. A phone return and a service cancellation are not the same request.
Use this switching checklist
- Check several recent bills for your actual mobile and hotspot use. A quiet month at home may not represent travel or a busy work month.
- Save the offer, premium-data allowance and renewal conditions shown for your order. Keep temporary data bonuses separate from temporary price discounts.
- Test service on the phone and in the places you use. Set a reminder before a trial or refund deadline, rather than waiting until the last day.
- If you want to keep your number, get the new carrier’s transfer instructions before ending the old line. Keep transfer PINs private, then verify calls, texts and data after the move.
